Many thanks Gentlemen.
It has been a long time - took a knock to the head and have been assumed dead or MIA
Believe it is custom to get a round of drinks but seeing as it's been a few years lets make it doubles.
It's then onto some refresher training followed by kicking some Frenchie backside with my new boots assuming they are not still cowering underneath tables

Thanks for the double. Usually I only get that when it is in canister form fired from a French gun. Pardon my ignorance, but why would your boots be underneath a table?

That is because he is English. We English are civilized. We never put our feet on the table. Mine, along with the rest of me however, can usually be found underneath the table of an evening.

As an officer in La Grande Armee, the sword of the French nation, we will be found to have our feet upon the table, but only mind you when there is a campaign battle map unfolded upon it!

Regards,

Campaigns are the only way the French can ever hope to gain a victory, single battles they run with tails between legs

'twas the French cowering beneath the tables that I meant ~ one too many beers I think :)

Good sir, if it is a victory in a campaign it implies a victory in a battle, for the decisive battle is but the effect of a campaign.

Welcome back to the fray Jason, and as you have had too much beer, may I offer you a good cup of strong coffee on this morn (or is it midday now?), and a croissant to go with it?

Regards,

Welcome Back Sir,

I will take the double and for your trouble when you feel the need for a single battle in the New Year (I have a full dance card until then) I will be more than happy to oblige :)

Many thanks for the offer of a battle in the new year Colonel Baron Mike Ellwood. I'll add you to my list of conquests and send my courier nearer the time :D
