General Schmidagall's favorite horse seems to have thrown his shoes, and he wanted me to let you know that he may be absent for a few days while he locates a blacksmith that he can trust.

Todd is actually having Internet Connection issues at the moment.

Actually it is my cavalry having its way with his communication lines in our current battle. I'd say I have him surrounded but most are close to routing.

Internet indeed!!

Salute!

L'Chevalier enters the common room of the tavern and thanks Der Jager for delivering his message to friend and foe (and often they are friendly foes, to be assured).

Indeed my horse had thrown a shoe, but all seems well now - nothing the neighborhood blacksmith wasn't able to fix.

Joining the Hanoverian gang at their table as they celebrate the recent award to Der Wolf, and after offering his own congratulations to the victorious officer, he bends ears of any who will listen to the telling of how he finally acquired his steed.

After the ransom of the captured Archduke Louis at Abensberg, I had kept one of the Haplessburgher's mounts.

However, at the time I was a member of the Tirailleurs and had no need for such a fine example of equine nature, and so I sold it to a merchant for pretty coin in the Cisalpine Republic.

But then the course of recent events elevated me to command of the Reserve Cavalerie Corps, and now such a necessity was manifest.

My Aide de Camp reminded me of what I had done with my prize from earlier victory, and so I sent him back to Italia to try and regain the steed for my use.

Happily the deed was accomplished and I have my horse now, though the merchant did insist upon selling it back only at a profit.

L'Chevalier smiles at seeing one of his current antagonists upon the battle maps giving him warm welcome - My good Spaniard fear not, the latest turn of combat is even now upon the way to you. Pause to dip some bread in oil, then - And you needn't worry about FML's Weissenwolf, or Crenneville... when last I saw them they were enjoying some fine French cuisine.

Regards,

Salute!

To my many friends upon the battle maps, thank you for your patience these last few days.

I encountered internet service difficulties over the past weekend...
and then thought I had fixed the problem... but it was fools gold.

However, my wonderful wife who is far more tech savvy than this self proclaimed Luddite showed me the errors of my ways, and has solved the aforementioned issues. 8)

So, I am up and running again! :D

Bear with me a few more days as I play catch up with assorted game files.

The club is a major flux right now and needs stability. I would like to be the interim Secretary, effective immediately until the election and then a candidate.

I think this would show some stability to the members that the situation is under control.

With only you and Jim (sic) it does not look good.

Hi Pierre,

As for the position of interim Secretary, that has not been done before

And the Cabinet I have been a part of has specifically avoided making such appointments in the past due to the appearance of conflict of interest

There is however precedent for interim CiC of an army based on the need to keep them running

I have discussed this with the Coalition Contingent commanders already

I have also made it clear to them that such a role would serve as an advisor on their behalf, and not being elected would have no voting privileges

If you were to accept this I will be happy to talk with Roy about the idea

I was going to talk with you about your interest in running for that position anyways

Let me know your thoughts

No problem with the idea.

But then, a most strange and telling turn of events....

Todd,

Your answer about Cabinet appointing interim is so wishy washy.

It remind me of such pedantic remarks, oh we can’t do that, it has never been done before. Etc.

The club is in crisis and needs leadership and bold action. If you can’t do that then step down.

A wishy washy President will not do at this time. If you continue on this path I can’t see you lasting more than a month based on the pressure you will be under. You have seen the mild pressure so far.

Unfortunately I expect your answer to be as I have received in the past. Un-committed, lacking a big picture view and a political answer that says nothing.

I am surprised since this is the opposite of your military views on situations. Which seem more practical.

Pierre

Regards,
