As more new players come into the club and old computers are replace the windows 8 and 7 could become a problem. What is needed is HPS solve their problem with these new computers and not say it's the windows problems.

I would like to know how you downloaded the Hps games with out getting a "can't create output files. C:\HPS Simulations \campaign Waterloo\cpw."?

My file path actually reads "C:/HPS Software/Eckmuhl", except that the slashes are back slashes. My phone does not have back slashes, and I am away from a keyboard. As I recall, I created the path and told my computer where to place my game files. I did not allow it to install the game through its default path.

Seems like you knew that there would be a problem going the normal way. I will try putting it the same way and see what happens since I see you didn't say waterloo I guess you have not tried that game?

Worth a shot. You are correct that I do not have Waterloo installed on my Windows 7 computer yet.

Bon jour Cliff!

I think you are a lucky man! Your wife plays the games too? Truly a marriage we all envy! Spectacular! Does she have a sister? :D

I'm running Eckmuhl, Leipzig, Bautzen, Waterloo, 1814, and Austerlitz on both Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines.

<rant>I hate Windows 8 with the burning fire of 1000 suns. If I wanted something to run an operating system with the look and feel of a tablet... I would buy a freaking tablet. </rant>

I had one issue with a Waterloo game on the Windows 8 machine a few months ago. Changed the installation to a custom file path, like Mark said above, and have had no issues since. When you use the custom file path, you just have to make sure that when you do install patches, you change the file path they unzip to by default. I made that mistake once. Couldn't figure out why my game wouldn't update.

Recently had a bit of an issue in an Eckmuhl game, but that was a multiplayer game with 9 players. Kind of tough to narrow it down to Windows 8 with any certainty.

I've completed 7 different games with 4 different opponents in Waterloo since July with no problems.

I have had no other problems with any of the other games.
