The Death of Ney - The Terrible 4 Turn Battle...

Haha... In an absolutely stupefying defeat to Andy Moss, I was schooled like a child on the playground.... :P Within 40 minutes from 5am to about 5:40am this morning Andy & I played the Ney's Attack in Jena. 4 turns, no holding back....it started off well for me, captured some of his guns, the rest was down hill. My men were stopped at the small village and my cavalry was being shot up, so I moved it back to charge.....in doing so, only an idiot would not of seen what I did, I must be blind and Andy is no idiot. I left my commanders exposed, something I rarely, REPEAT RARELY ever do. I didn't even think about his infantry, shooting up the small amount of escort with the leaders. He capture 4 commanders, including Ney.... :( My final turn, I had but two commanders left. This after fighting him most of the fall in HPS Renaissance and him capturing my whole command of leaders there and beating me like I stole a piece of pie... :P

Needless to say in our Nappy game I walked away with a Minor Defeat, ONLY because it was only 4 turns....and Mark Jones caaims he didn't want to play a 4 turn game, ha! :D

I never, ever lose leaders, I am so careful with them. It is my only, ONLY redeeming battlefield quality. :P But in each Club, there is always that one guy, who always steals your whole command. I think Andy is that guy for me here.....now onto another Jena game, where he will no doubt treat me liked the red headed step child....

You taking notes Bradshaw! :D

Good Game Andy! :P

Thanks to you I see the joy of the short battle. A result in a quick time. Oh, I did jot down this note, "walked away with a Minor Defeat". Now that I am a Major, I will try to give you a major defeat.

Viva Espana! Andele"!

I actually do not "claim" that I do not want to play a 4 Turn battle, I actually have no interest in going through the process of loading Jena-Auerstadt onto my computer to play a 4 Turn battle. I am not seeking a quick, easy victory. I need more time in the saddle and enjoy grand tactical maneuvering more than a scrum. :D :P

Of course, I'm not too bad in a scrum either.

Congratulations to my noble mentor and long time MP partner for his quick and decisive victory. I seem to recall Mssr. Ludwig saying something about his battles serving for the "Glory of France". Yes, "for the Glory of France" indeed. May France be perpetually covered in such glory! :D :P

Huzzah for FM Moss and the mighty and irrepressible Anglo-Allied Army! 8) 8) 8)

Indeed never has a coffee break at work been so entertaining. At least not since last Friday and the School Committee meeting to discuss the Portable Ladders Policy.

Hehe, yes Mark I know what you said.... :D I only said it to jab at you a bit.... :P

As to the Glory of France....final glory will be ours, no matter how long it takes! :D

Richard, yes, you try....we'll see how it goes. ;)

Andy - I should of went back to bed this morning.... :P But I figured you could use a pick me up. We both know how exciting ladder policy is... :P

Thanks for clearing that up Scott. I'll be sure and place them upstream from your tent.
