Maréchal John Corbin is please to announce that
Lieutenant Mark Hornsby
is receiving the following award
for his exemplary service to Emperor Napoleon &
the La Grande Armée.

Sabre d'honneur: This is a discretionary award given to those who have performed above and beyond the call of duty for la Grande Armee and l’Empereur.

Please congratulate the Lieutenant on his award for stepping up as the IV Corps Chef d'Etat-Major, doing a great job and go easy on his purse, Lieutenants income is considerably less than generals.

Battle On..

Salute!

Ah, Lieutenant Hornsby, it appears you are doing a fine job in your position of Chef d'Etat-Major. :)

I remember when I was in that very post, and now look - command of a Corps! 8)

I'm sure such a prospect adorns your own future! :D

Congratulations, sir!

And yes, I also know the meager weight of a Lieutenant's purse, so allow me to buy you a pitcher of ale or a bottle of wine if you prefer.

Regards,

Thank you all, a most honoured award and one not deserving as I do my duty for France and our Emperor but I shall accept and wear it with pride.

Thank you all again and I shall have a drink with you all, Helga, my usual wine please my dear, and a toast.....

"To France, Napoleon and to our most gracious enemies, with which our war would have no meaning.... I salute you sirs"

"Merry Christmas to one and all and a most happy and victorious New Year"

Now I shall retire to my regiment for carols and mulled wine around the fire...and enjoy the 3 day ceasefire with my troops and fellow comrades filled with merryment, drink and fine food.
