I have 2 Prelude to Waterloo CD's that I purchased some time ago for $5.00 that I will send to anyone in the NWC for free, So if you would like one just email your address. But do not forget you will need the latest patch, which you can find on the internet at various locations.

If I do not hear from anyone I will post in the Rhine at the end of this coming week.

Great games and its a pity they don't transfer to systems after XP! I have the same issue with original Warcraft and its expansions I and II, which I loved!! :cry:

Hi,

Talonsoft works on Vista.
I ran Waterloo and played D'Erlon's assault via email with a clumb member.
I played full PTW campaign with the waterloo option and got that to work. It was cool to see depleted battalions.
I played full Eylau with NIR in vista.

Matrix is a big rip off.

The TALONSOFT original BG games will NOT work on Win7 or 8.

HOWEVER, MATRIX sells a complete package of BG games, updated by John Tiller for MATRIX. They, both Nappy and ACW games, work very well with WIN7 and probably on WIN8.

I play them all the time.

Yes, the Matrix games do work on Windows 8 as well, with the small little glitch that I am terrible at them.

The advantage of Matrix BG is that you get all the BG titles for the price of one HPS title.

The downside is that HPS is newer and probably better except for the 3d graphics.

Yes I know it is possible to download improved graphics - but I have not worked out where to put the download yet. :-(

The modified files bear the same names as the files you wish to replace. Simply Copy and Replace them. The files go in either the Map or Info folders of the game title you are upgrading.

Yes, the graphics mods greatly improve the utility of the HPS/JTS games. Be sure to download the 2D Mods that I created as well. These were originally done by Bill Peters, and further modified by me. You will be amazed at how much easier it will be to see the Roads, Paths, and Streams when viewing the 2D Maps. It makes planning your battle so much easier when the transportation system becomes obvious without any need to squint. :wink:

Oh dang, now I am telling my secrets.... :o :shock: :oops:
