The ambiance has changed in the short time I have been here. To qualify myself, I am here to take advantage of the hard work put in by others so I can enjoy the camaraderie, forward the glory of Spain, and find opponents. Now it is when the President makes a comment, a quotation of the rules is typically the next comment. It has become such that I am expecting something like this;

President - What a glorious sunset this evening. Reports are the sun will rise at 0628 hours in the morn

other person - Rule 34 sec(a)1 sayeth that the sun shall not rise before 0625 nor after 0650 whereupon it will have been considered to already have risen.

It is a great change from my "early days" in the Tavern. Just an observation.

Once again you insult the members of the cabinet. I am my own person and make my decisions accordingly. I should like to point out the President was elected by the members and if anyone could have run against him in the last election, surprisingly no one did!

Everyone has a right to their own opinion but it is still slandering a persons when you say they are controlled by the president. Agreeing with someone does not make you a mindless follower.

Bottom line the elections give the members a say in who manages the club. So vote, the rule changes passed by a vast majority of the members, and Andy Moss became the leader of the CnC because no one else was nominated or chose to run, maybe the Coalition members thought he was the best man for the job!

No one was selected for the position as in the past and approved by a few cabinet members.

Maybe you should call for a special election to replace the President, the club secretary and the LGA CnC. this way the whole cabinet will either be recently elected members!

I will no doubt be unhappy with your reply or those of others who agree with you, but I am moving on and will go back to work doing what I do best, keeping things up to date, having fun, loosing a few battles and may be win one now and then, and of course working for the NWC members as a cabinet member and working for the officers in the LGA as CoS.

Battle On...

If anyone has questions about the work that is done by cabinet members, send an email to the entire cabinet with your questions and/or concerns.

The cabinet is here to help you guys so take advantage of them, nicely of course and always politely.

This thread is serving no real purpose except to get people angry and upset.

If a letter to cabinet does not get a response, let me know ( LGA officers only ) and i will see what the delay is.

Hey David
I have stayed out of all this circular debate as its very tiresome. However I really feel you made a very subjective statement that I will pick you up on.

Your statement
"we went from a club were armies were "ruling" with a gentle hand from the cabinet to a club where the President seems to be the ruler of the club"

I would say its more accurate to say:

We had a ruling elite who ran the armies how they saw fit in same cases well but overall inconsistently, the cabinet led by Mark noted this and implemented a change that was supported by the majority of the club (what was it 90%?). The new rules included contingencies to prevent a role back to the fiefdoms.

So I would say your statement is a subjective matter of opinion that the evidence does not support. The vast majority of the club have supported Mark's and the cabinet's work and voted for the new rules. That's a fact

Its fine to have a different opinion and I respect that, but remember your difference is with 90% of the clubs voters. Not just Mark. This is a crucial thing so perhaps direct you disagreement at us all not just Mark. The silent majority voted across the board for the new rules in every area including giving the cabinet the powers it has.

I would propose if you do care about the club and others who are doing the same to put aside these attacks and move forward.
I would also ask the majority who lose patience with these attacks to remain calm in their responses.

I miss my old club I hope the new one will end up better. You are all my friends but my life is just to hard for this petty carry on for the club boards to be a place to 'hang out'.

Its time to mature and accept we are moving forward.

With respects David and kind regards

David <Salute>

I was in the army so I do not find it hard to salute someone who is in the wrong - no smilie here <Salute>

I am here to meet opponents, fight (play) battles and have a dig at the other side (in my case the French "spit" :-) )

I have no idea if I am in the minority or the majority, in fact I care not as long as the club is still here supplying what I want.

Can we get off the politics, we had a vote, it is done, over, finished. FULL STOP!

Let us get back to doing what we actually joined the club for. Anyone who wants to engage in political in fighting please go and join your local political party's committee.

Image I say Old boy that's a jolly good idea but the Frenchee is saying he has a right to speck his mind weather you or any one else like it, and by saying what you said just prolongs the poor Frenchies misery. Now get your Lads forward and carry on carry on. I say Pition these junior officers are a worrying lot say what!

Interesting, David.

I preserved my original post concerning the nominations for the Club Public Relations Officer in its entirety in the Reading Room Forum. I specifically did so in order that I would not be guilty of 'Censorship'.

I am curious as to what manner you preserved your original post so that you would not be guilty of 'Censorship'. Not to worry though, because the reality of the situation is that I retain a copy of every post that is ever placed in our Club Forums so that it cannot be lost for our Club Records. Should you ever wish to restore your original text, just let me know and I will be very glad to send it back to you.

Seriously you want to go back to it? I am trying to move on...

First of all, yesterday I found that the nomination topic had been edited here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14026
So I decided to remove what I had said in this (where we are now) topic since it didn't make sens without the posts in the nomination topic. Then I discovered that all had been moved to viewtopic.php?f=41&t=14039 in the off topic forum.

I didn't cry for censorship, I just edited my messages.
As for method of preserving my posts I don't preserve them in any place other than the forum. So when it's gone it's gone.

To finish on that topic, I go back to what I enjoy most: taking care of my games, taking care of my corps and vote when I have to vote, voice my opinion when I feel like it.
And for voicing my opinion on club matters I won't have much to say now since at least 90% of the club is happy with the state of things.

And I won't send any email to the Cabinet either since some members of the cabinet take it as a joke: viewtopic.php?p=78531#p78531

Speaking of the original post, could you move it back to Rhine as it's own standalone topic?

The reading room is for learning about books and the like, but the Rhine is the appropriate place for that discussion on what the public relations officer does and some very good dialogue on how to get people energized about recruiting and the like. There was a lot of good ideas there, and topics in the reading room don't get the same level of traffic as they do here in the Rhine.

I actually offered to do just that in my email to the Cabinet this morning, Jeff. I did not receive any replies. Copying it to a separate forum was the safest initial approach to ensure the original thread was not lost. I will be very glad to move it back after the nomination period ends, and the campaign period begins. What transpired in the initial thread was most definitely campaigning in advance of having accrued all of the nominations.

I will respond to David as well, but not from my phone as I am now doing for you. Keyboards make typing so much easier.

And Jeff, thank you for being polite and respectful in the presentation of your most reasonable request. I do honestly appreciate it.
