I suggest showing that info under the status page and let the user himself simply add that info under the "Edit Profile" page by letting him mark a checkbox for each game that the club supports.
That info could be shown on the muster page by adding additional columns for each game preferably with an abbreviated title like for example Campaign Leipzig shown as CL and then show Y in that column when the user has or N if he has not marked that game.

And it's not like the games one owns change frequently, this is a simple info added over time as the member expands his game collection so there is simply no need to be "up to date" or have someone do any administrative workload especially not frequently, it's for now only the workload of adding this function to the DOR system and after that it's up to the user, just the way it is up to the user to keep his email up-to-date.
No need to make a fuzz like we do now with chasing down inactive members.

Also I see a difference in actively writing to people in search for an opponent(in his various forms, be it single player, partner for a team, etc) as to simply make a thread in the "Opponent Finder" section and wait passively for something to happen.
Isn't that what all the notes for the various command positions are about? To "actively" lead and not simply to let anything float, so I don't see it bad if members themselves can show a bit activity.
But that is just one point I see a use for that information, others are:
-Plan tournaments(as you said yourself),
-Help determine the next game to buy by seeing what the community prefers.

With a database of games owned so totally out of date like the current has to be, there is no use in providing that info at all for new members.

Salute!

I agree with the suggestion that Christian makes, at least as far as making use of the member's profile.

I currently list my games owned under Hobbies, as there doesn't seem to be another relevant space to put them.

This would still be up to the member to show, and not requiring extra work by the administrative staff.

Regards,

I agree, very good idea if its not too technically difficult.

Problem I see that this still doesn't give an easy way to find out how the games are represented in the club and what member has which games, so you would have to work thru all the profiles on this forum even thru those of the inactive members as I can't see their Active/Inactive status from the profile.

A good point about the active/inactive number of profiles.
I would recommend that the administrators make an effort to clean up the data base in this regards.
I was going through the profiles myself and there are way too many members still listed that are no longer among us.

In the end, the simplest way to find an opponent is to post in the Opponent's Forum.
And when you've been a member long enough there is certainly the personal contacts one has made.

And I also make an effort to help those in need find an opponent - it is a task I have as a staff officer in LGA HQ, and is something I strive to do with/for new recruits.

Regards,

Every member of the NWC has access to a Muster Report in our DoR System for each army in our club that is always current to within 24 hours. Only 'active' members are listed in those reports. There is no need to sort through any list that contains both active and inactive members.

I am actually not certain that I understand at what it is that you fellows are looking.

Well to sum it up, General Schmidgall had the idea to give the info about what games a members possesses over the forum profile, not bad but as I mentioned there are some problems with this and it basically misses what I was aiming for > a "database" that can be accessed by any member to get an easy & complete overview of who possesses what games.
Just to remind this is not alone to find opponents but also to have a clue what games can be used in tournaments or multiplayer-games and also to give a guide on what games should/could be bought next, besiedes these points I'm sure there will be more use for such additional information as soon as it's collected.
And as we have already database with all the users that is our DOR system I think the best way would be to had that information there.

I know that I was looking at the Profile section for the club membership.
It has people listed that are no longer members of the club.

I was looking at that because of the discussion in this thread about members listing the games they own in their profiles (as I do under Hobbies as there is no other place to show them).

The Muster Report in the DoR system as far as the Coalition is concerned shows members no longer active as well...
Indeed, Scott Ludwig for example is listed as an officer in the Prussian army...
Hey, wait a minute! :?
About that!

Todd,

Lol. You know every army, including the French list all their inactive officers too in the DoR reports. :) If you are referring to my having still been listed in the Prussian Guard after I left, that has been corrected. :)

Yes, I was just being funny. :)

In LGA muster report the inactive officers are listed in the Hotel des Invalides.

I don't know about the Guards and your listing, but I saw it under a Landwher Reserveheading.
Is that the Prussian equivalent to our Hotel?

Answering my own question, yes it is!
