Let's get rid of the dissension.

Let the cabinet vote to give a GENERAL AMNESTY to all!

Start with a clean slate! Those that have been sanctioned, for whatever reason, be reinstated.

Those that left the club be allowed to return, if they so desire, with no loss of rank, but loss of position.

PERIOD!

I am totally sick of the arguments... clean slate? It's not going to happen in the current environment.

I suggest that the entire cabinet voluntarily resign and put this entire chapter behind the NWC.

Its nothing personal -- I'm just looking for a way forward that works for all.

Evening "Muddy"

I assume there is an Election September, so the Cabinet will for the first time an elected group. Since the problems started we have had two Cabinet Members Elected all be it one unopposed and there is also a vacancy in the shape of a French C. in C.

Just trying to understand the logic, as I see it the majority (i.e. 3) will be elected Cabinet Members even before September. :)

Greetings,

As an elected member of the Cabinet, and a member of the NWC since the fall of 2011, I have only the desire to work hard at improving the quality of experience for one and all in our club.

In no way do I accept the suggestion that the Cabinet should resign in order to please everyone.

That would be surrendering to the demands and actions of an extreme group of people who have been bent on causing havoc and discord in our club.

Their behavior as evidenced in the posts they have made in our forums and in their initiation of mass emails to the membership should more than suffice to reveal their intentions here.

Even though when confronted with the evidence of their own written words they will deny, deny, deny that they ever said any such things.

These individuals are engaging in cyber bullying and other conduct that is against the letter of the rules for our club, and in the spirit of what our club is all about.

This Cabinet is for the first time nearly all elected, and shortly all of it will be.

It is not that difficult to see that the core of the group who are involved in an intentional effort to destabilize our club through harassment of club officials and the general membership, are reacting to their loss of the debate in the market place of ideas, as their own vision of what this club should be like has not met with success in the ballot box.

Therefore they resort to these brutish tactics in order to frighten, or enrage the membership.
It is their belief that if one tells a lie enough times, people will believe it.

I ask you to consider is it wise policy to attack the fireman when he comes to put out the fire that threatens your home?

Respectfully,

Election time in September. It's a democracy. Jim is quite right. Use your vote. Not any kind of underhanded conspiracy.

I have stated in the locked thread that if the Coalition members lack confidence in me, I will resign now. Indeed I only answer to the membership specifically, and the Working Classes generally!

Sir Muddy has made the suggestion. Is there a seconder? Then I shall immediately step down and somebody else will presumably rush to volunteer take over.

I am away for a week's holiday in a couple of hours so let me know.

I am always open to give people a second chance. It often does not work out but the few that do is worth it.

I agree with amnesty.

However I do not agree of a Cabinet resignation. That is crazy. I think most of the elected were not contested. Most were just elected. That would be a step back for democracy to have elected officials step down because you don't agree with them.

Is there an impeachment process in the rules to remove a Cabinet member? I don't remember seeing one.

Hi Andy

I trust that just because one/two people decide they would like you to stand down you will hold your hand, as I will propose you don't and I am sure I will get a seconder :P

I think amnesty will just all0w this whole mess to start back up. The guys who are gone were never going to be a positive force for the club. They had and agenda and I imagine still do.

The cabinet does not need to resign, if you do not like the decsions they have taken then please run for the offices during the next cycle and you can reverse them. That is all that was asked of the those who are now gone.

For now let's get back to the games and move on.

Ken,
if the cabinet steps down, then what? We have an election again? So we can argue some more? As was noted, there is an election coming up in September which will mean the majority of the cabinet will have been recently elected.

Amnesty and a cooling off period is the best approach, IMHO---some people who left will not want to return and others may.

The Cabinet may be overreacting, but it takes two to tango. Stirring the pot here does not help.

We had elections, the results were one sided (I voted against several of the new rules, in case you are wondering)...If people are still so upset maybe they need to ask themselves why.

The few that are departing have resorted to some pretty underhanded and destructive behaviour. Their emphasis was not to play games and participate in the spirt of the club - As Ed indicates and I support very much - these memebers have caused too much damage to invite them back - several have already had second chances and their schemes only got worse.

Honestly - they will not be happy to they drive enough people away that they can get what they want. I for one do not want them back - we need to rebuild the clube with the remaining postive members that we have - we do not need what they brought to the table

Andy,

I would second Jim's comments and would not like you to step down - you were elected - stepping down is exactly what this group was trying to accomplish - remove the elected cabinet as they did not agree with the outcome of the respective votes

Yes,
Andy should not step down. We have a process in this club that was voted on. The Cabinet should not step down. People need to step back and look at the administrative state of the club---are you prevented from playing games? From Role Playing? If the answer is no then ask yourself why are you so worked up. We voted on rules, we voted on a president, etc....If you cannot accept the result ask yourself why you care so much. And again, have those results stopped you from playing games, finding opponents, etc?

I am in favor of amnesty to let things simmer down. A lot of the current disgruntlement being voiced by a club majority is about a chain of events and covnersations around things, such as the rules and army reorganizations, that are finished and voted on etc. If we amnesty and chill out, much of that will fade into the past.---once we simmer if people still want to stir the pot then we can clearly call them out as trolls....
