Salute!

The semaphore station reports that Colonel Cavallin has achieved a Major Victory in the first battle of the 1814 Campaign. :frenchvive1:

To quote from the dispatch...

The battle started off very evenly, but eventually Sacken fed all of reinforcements into the fray, I wore him down, captured most of his artillery and some key commanders thus throwing his command structure and ability to regroup into utter chaos. He should have retreated in some order at that point, but he overstayed his welcome, and then my Young Guard infantry and cavalry reinforcement arrived and these fresh troops wrested control of the victory standard! The troops need rest… but a good start to the 1814 campaign.

Congratulations Colonel Cavallin! :frenchvive:

"Did not the noble, Colonel Cavallin defang the "Austrian Wolf" in their last engagement, Herr Wurger", asks the Coalition Army's Chief of Staff of his Hanoverian companion.

"Ja, mein General, I do believe that ist so", replied the Hanoverian Brigadier.

"And whatever do you think he means by his dispersion of "shame" upon the "Allied Command", asked the Army's Chief of Staff.

"Die Mad Haitian hast zu fiele trinken, mein General", replied Der Wurger. "Die Biehre hast gone zu his head."

"I suppose", mused the Hanoverian Guardsman. "That would seem to be the only logical explanation for his behavior, if indeed there is any logical explanation."

Nein, mein Herren. He beat the crap out of you and then settled for a Draw so that he would not have to play you for another 1,000 turns when the matter was already long decided. We all saw the casualty figures, and they were extremely one sided in his favor.

Und jetz, mein Herren. It was you who first started slinging insults like a Frenchman against your Coalition brothers by calling the King of England "brain dead", substituting the word "Leftover" for "Hanover", stating quite plainly that I am too ugly to look at myself in the mirror, and accusing the Allied Command of somehow being responsible for the losses of Coalition officers to their French opponents. It is you who have obviously become confused about the side for which you fight. I can only assume that it is the rum speaking for you, and that you will be much improved once you sleep it off.

Congratulations sir! I'll remember this beating fondly. Rest assured the Allies will be back.
