Hi everyone. So, being new to the club, I don't know how this works quite yet, but I heard the NWC puts on these tournament things every now and again. Would any of you happen to know of anything specific in the works? Any place on the forum for this kind of info that I may have overlooked?

Best,
Viktor

I am planning to put on another Struggle of Nations Tournament after the elections in September. I had posted about possibly starting a tournament at the beginning of last July, but decided that the timing of that would be bad due to the high number of members away on holidays in the summer.

Greetings Viktor.

We are planning to have a tournament this fall, after the summer holiday season. More information about it to come!

Battle On...

I have always wondered how you chaps in the Southern hemisphere manage to stay on the earth with the rest of us. I mean, you are literally upside down the whole time. The only thing that I can think of that would explain your success at remaining stuck to the Earth while perpetually inverted is the liberal distribution of gravity boots.

Mark,

We also have a very tenacious attitude, demeanor a strong grip and really grippy boots!

Also yes we do appreciate the effort put in by the administrators of the tourneys for sure :frenchsalute:

Can I make a suggestion that the tourneys are in three tiers:
1. The old Grognards of fame and fortune who get their drinks bought for them by the sorry souls who they whip.
2. The up and coming thrusters who have a few battle honours under their belts and hefty tabs with Helga.
3. The newbies with fresh faced enthusiasm for getting medals and promotions whilst buying everyone drinks whether they win or lose.

This would seem to be a much more level and challenging playing (or battle as the case actually is) field.

Just a suggestion :frenchshock:

Thinking on further .....

That means there would be .....

3 winners
3 second placers
6 that just missed out a place in the final

We could then have the top 3 players of the French persuasion fight a MP battle against the top 3 players of the Allied persuasion. So as not to drag it out too long the MP battle should be a shortish scenario.

I admit that according to the Rhine Tavern posts the Allies could have a problem getting 3 into the aforementioned 12. :-(

So second thought .......

The 3 winners play a MP against the 3 second placers. The winners team play the Allies and the second placers play the French.

This would give kudos to 3 people but with the opportunity to grab bragging rights with the overall winning side.

Would further suggest that the leader of each team is only allowed to give orders not actually play a fighting role. In fact he could only move the commander on the field which he would do "before" the other two carried out his orders (or not). Should the commander fall then the other two would continue without their leaders advice (some may say not a handicap ;-) )

<Salute>
