Are Napoleon's the appropriate pastry for the celebration?

Maybe it's time for you to learn that the pastry you are talking about has nothing to do with Napoleon I  :frenchwink:

Quote:
The variant name of Napoleon appears to come from napolitain, the French adjective for the Italian city of Naples, but altered by association with the name of Emperor Napoleon I of France.[4] The Larousse Gastronomique does not mention the Napoléon, although a gateau napolitain is listed, with a note that while the cake itself is not often seen, small biscuits known as fonds napolitains are still made, decorated with butter cream or conserves.[5] There is no evidence to connect the pastry to the emperor himself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mille-feuille

It is also said that François Pierre La Varenne was the creator of the pastry in 1651

At the end of the day this is all that matters:

Napoleon Abandons Troops in Egypt

Napoleon Abandons Troops in Russia

Napoleon Abandons Troops in Germany

Napoleon Abandons Troops at Waterloo

Remember, always Napoleon first, France second.... :frenchcharge:

Well well well...

He wasn't the only one to abandon something...

Blucher abandoned farming to go to war.

Wellington abandoned India to find glory in Europe

Alexander I and Francis II had to flee the field of battle at Austerlitz

Friedrich Wilhelm III and his wife Louise (the beautiful) had to flea after the double disaster of Jena–Auerstedt...

Haha nice....total aside an old iNWC member had two very beloved cats named Napoleon & Josephine.... :frenchcool

But, you know, Napoleon totally took off on his men from Russia and left them to rot. Then Murat took off on them too....I've seen retail clerks more loyal than those two.... :frenchlol:

He didn't flee, I continued to fight for the cause of teaching the European hillbillies some lessons.
A German documentary mentions that the French introduced the garbage collection along the Rhine area for example, some people really need to learn the easiest things, wouldn't wonder if they also teach them not to pee against the wind.
:frenchlol:

And at least he didn't revert anything back to the pre-revolution era like the Coaltion did, they just made sure anyone died in these wars to let the fat Bourbons stay in power.
