Awhile ago Chad from the Blitz queried something along the lines of if BPW's stock 3d graphics could be shifted around to some of the other series -and I got permission from Rich Hamilton to do that (actually I think he sort of said that I did not need permission to do that as since it was theirs in the first place ... but I guess I was just dotting my i's, crossing my t's, and then dotting my j's ...)

I think next week I will be putting together the BPW stock 3d images into a downloadable folder and making it available on SDC. As it turns out the 2d modifications from the BPW mod I was throwing together aren't too bad either (well I don't mind them -but ...well, yeah I guess I am biased.).

I am still working on the BPW mod - and most of this is with the phasebox image at this point -and I hope to have that graphic finalised this weekend. At that point I think it will be good to go -and I will put it together and make that available as well... again probably next weekend.

Don't have BPW yet but it's always good to see such mods released, thanks.

Now a small critic would be the water hexes as they look more like concrete, the more blue tone of the water hexes in 3d view looks better to me.
Maybe a gradation of the water like:
stream = light blue
creek = medium blue
water hexes = dark blue
would be better.

You know in a perfect world one of the things I would love would be coastal hexes and then non-coastal hexes, but that is not an option.

It is easy enough to change the colors on these, so who knows - there might be some changes there. The thing about water is it colors can be very different based on a lot of things (yeah sure muddy water -that is one thing), but what has struck me (a guy who grew up in the middle of the US) but now lives near the ocean ... is how much of a difference light conditions make - the same stretch of water can appear turquoise and you can see the sea bottom ... to being gray or even deep blue itself - depending on the time of day the same water can be deep blue, to silver, to golden, and then even copper -naturally due to Sun position - and then on partly cloudy days - it can look speckled -pretty interesting stuff (well interesting to a guy with a photography hobby that did not get out that much or have that much of an opportunity to observe the same stretch of coast regularly) - sure I know that rivers can be a different animal again. ;)

I do appreciate the feedback (although I was not really sure what to write).

Ok aside from that, I have posted an NB mod (just don't use it on BPW if you have installed the other one).

Looks very good, was there any work done on the units?

I guess it would be interesting to have the game switch to a different graphic set on dusk/dawn and on night turns, this way the light conditions could be really seen on the map.
Maybe we see that one day, just like I hope to get a way of a higher resolution for the new 2d zoom level.
