This is a special OOB and scenario. We are about 2/3 way through. The battle is joined. You would take over the center brigade (& the Cav, Indians, arty) right in the thick of it. Tom Gremmels & I are are your partners.
Our 3 British opponents aren't pushovers, despite their fancy words and dress, so it's a challenge.

Well, they probably were pushovers when this started ... since turn 1 of this game, one of us has advanced from Regular to Captain and one from Regular to Brig. General, so you can safely say we spent our entire career on this field of Saratoga. [:D]

If you can wait until I return on the 6th of December, I would be happy to carry the fight to the center. If not, and you have another ready volunteer, that's fine too.

Let me know.

Why, yes we can wait until then, Mike. Maybe our esteemed and overly promoted opponents will have have retired to their country manors by then.
In the British army promotion comes quickly to the addle-brained 3rd son of Lord Phlegmwick, 14th Earl of Loutshire and his peers. Well, I suppose that's one way to get them out of England. Aren't we lucky they were sent to us.
In our army one must earn promotion. No daddy pulling strings in the dissolute court of George III. No purchase of rank for those who know less of tactics than a novice in a nunnery.

Dierk,
Don't forget we have all lost our hair, teeth and our uh... er... um mam.. no... wait... mo.. mem oh yeah, memories while waiting. This game began back before the beginning of time. Actually, hasn't the whole problem been because the Americans keep dropping out, can't take the pressure I guess. At the rate we are going, we three stalwart professional British soldiers will have played every American on the roster in this one game.

LOL, I do have to agree this one has probably set a record in this club for length. I was in a 6 player MP in the Nap club that lasted for 2 years and we didn't have to recruit replacements for either side.
This is a much better scenario (not sure who wrote it) than the one that comes with the game I think. I've played the game one 3 times and gotten a major every time as the Revs. This one looked even more unbalanced, but it's not. I have to salute the fuzzy-wuzzies that you dressed out as Grenadiers - they just won't break.

Indeed ... I think the original leader of the opposing forces was the late commander of the French Department who left the club so long ago that he has faded entirely out of memory. [8)]

There may be three American generals in this battle, but clearly Dierk is a match for the lot of them, because - quite apart from dying off like flies - they're not giving Larry much trouble and they're too scared even to venture out of the woods within range of my guns!

So, whoever is bold enough to take over the centre, bear in mind we have plenty of fresh troops left waiting to knock your rebellious heads together and demand back-payment of overdue taxes!

Capt Rich White
28th North Glos Rgt
Right Wing, British Army 1776

I have returned from my inspection of the lines surrounding New York and am ready to pick up the fight.

Please send the oob, bte, and whatever other files are needed down the Hudson to mlcox@napanet.net.

A brief situation report and plan of operations would be appreciated.

Any house rules?

And another two weeks since we have heard from this proposal last ... this will easily be the longest club game ever (in terms of real time, not turns).

I can picture it clearly ... the game will be finished in 2009, just in time for the ten-year anniversary of the club. Larry, Rich, and I will all be field marshals then. We will have used up hundreds and hundreds of Yankee Rebel, Yankee Rebel Frog, and Yankee Rebel Injun opponents by then, and the Continental Army will have special medals to distinguish those who have played in the game for at least one turn from those few who haven't. The Colonials will be able to know their membership generations by the number of the turn they have played in ... "say, Ens. Smith, you enlisted in the summer of 2006, that will mean you played in turn 25 of the neverending Saratoga MP?" - "Nah, Major Jones, it was the summer of 2005, we were still in turn 23 back then". [:p]

Ah yes, I remember the golden years or turns 22 - 29. That was when we used to RUMBLE. Field Marshall Walter, OSM, DSM, VC, EFMYCN was just a wee colonel when we first got him on the run, and the Phil I actually had to powder his hair to make it white. Long before the scare he got when the 1812 department actually beat him at Long Island. [:o)]

Dang, the Brits saw through our plan. We were just trying to match your British quick promotion policy by giving everyone who did one turn full points.

Tom, Mike, I sent my part to Mike about the 7th of Dec - Did the Japanese bomb it or something? Do you need it again, Mike? Are you too busy beating the lobsters at the tourney MP, Tom?

Just checking now. I got it the sixth and sent it out to Tom later that night. Will resend.

Of course Tom is a bit busy handing out a king hell whippin' to the Redcoats.[:)]

Sent it to: tgremmels@savoycorp.com is that correct?
