Bill,
Actually, I had figured the gunpowder would count as the interest... though I suppose that they may not accept that since most of it would be used up in sending back the musket balls.

Maybe a few roundshot will do...

Carries off a bit of plunder from Sir Natta's sale...

Hmm..he's not such a bad guy for a freedom hating, snuff sniffing, wig wearing, tax extorting Lobster...

BTW: What political party is Natta?
A Whig of course [:p]

Yes, all that over a cardboard game Phil! I would hate to hear that chap if you tried to tell him that you dont take English Pounds!!!

BLAH, BLAH BLAH! If the US hadnt entered WW2, Paris would have been a member of the Soviet Union! And London would be a dominion of Belfast! Ungrateful Europeans! Why if we didnt use up all of that oil who would (SLURP says my OLDSMOBILE!)? (all tongue in cheek - the Germans without a second front might have taken Moscow!)

Frankly, I understand the lot of the Third World. Let me tell you they would love to live in nicer homes no doubt. And a few of them lash bombs to their waste to do their best to make a scene. You cant take THAT away from them that is for sure. For sheer devotion to a cause the Buffalo Bills are the real deal!! (quickly leaving politics and bringing up the playoffs!) I had no idea that with his 100 million dollar contract, Drew Bledsoe is the highest paid player in football! Go Bills! (am also a Chiefs fan but even when they rush for 170 yards they lose!)

Just posted 5 hard to find board games on the ARW. No exhorbitant taxes charged on these rare items. [;)]

Also put up some Marshall Enterprises Napoleonic games, which pre-dates the Clash of Arms editions.

Bid early, bid high, bid often. [:)]

"This word from our sponsors"
"Do you find that your game collection is getting stale? Then turn to Phil's Auctions! Phil has just the game for you! From World War 2 to the Persian Revolt of 245 BC! You are sure to find just the game you need for this holiday time. But remember - Batteries not included!"

Phil - wow, the entire set of Oldenberg Grenadier games on the Revolutionary War! Nice. I played Brandywine with a friend when it first came out. It was novel at the time in that it had step reduction for the units.

I set up Wagram with my friend that owned it. BIG battle. Definitely a collector's item. Might get passed around on many auctions before it gets played I think.

I will pass that info on the OG Games on to my friend Jay. He owns just about every game that was ever produced. No joke! I think his collection of games would put someone through Harvard Law School if he sold them on Ebay! Several thousand games.
There is a wonderful website on the SPQR game - Ruben Lopez posted the URL if you have never seen that site. The guy posted a walk-thru on the game. Very helpful.
Do you remember the Medieval War Quad by SPI? It used the long counters for the knights and spearmen. Very fun system. I cant find it online - probably one of my favorite systems that never got played much in our club. I had a huge collection of games - like the South - Gone with the Wind!

Of course, I am sure our own Sir Phil wonlt forget to pay his taxes - capital gains tax, luxury tax, estate tax, income tax, paper tax, counter tax, postage tax and the dreaded shrink wrap tax.

You shan't tax the tax collector! Unless the King decrees a new tax on the taxes that I tax the tax bearing Colonial taxpayers, in which case their taxes will be taxed yet again by the tax-free tax collector. [:D]

" .... very nice (GASP) using my own bowl against me!"
Army medics fail to resucitate Morgan - he dies and thus a new era is born in the club!

Bill moves over to take on a French regiment - Régiment d'Eptingen!!!

Morgan is dead and thus the Rifles lose their leader and disband!

Long live Freedom - long live Independence (but Morgan takes the dog with him to his grave!)!

(note: this should make things easier on the admin too - no more double assingment and all of those smelly riflemen were starting to make us choke - where is my Eugene #5 Perfume ....)

But the pooch is dead too!

Now who will open the bidding for one flea collar ....?

Sorry to break the news to you old boy, but you see the poodle you had in your possession was a double, a stand-in, a fake, just for such occasions! [:0] Did you really think that the 1st would let their mascot and inspiration be subject to capture by bear grease smeared backwoodmen?[?]? Nay...the real Bartholemew is alive and well and feasting on goose liver pate in his little Guardsman jacket as we speak. [8D] So don't get your hopes up just because you're turning in your ragged buckskins for a slighty better cut of white coat Sir. Little Bartholemew has no special fondness for unwashed Frenchmen either. [xx(] But, congratulations on your move to a marginally better state of affairs Bill. [:)]

Ha! You sure were fooled! We had your dog handler paid off and he substituted the REAL Bartholomew (sounds like a cat's name) while you werent looking! You sent the real Bart off to his doom!
Your handler is now safely away in the West Indies enjoying his guineas!
Now where is my hand cream - EUGENE - where did you stash the hand cream?

Now for some auction madness - I was able to get a copy of Napoleon's Campaigns by GMT for 10 dollars under retail price and that included adding in the s&h. 45 dollars got me the game and I have found a set of enthusiastic locals to play it with.

I will play Thirty Years War with one of the guys on Saturday. Neither of us have played it so the playing field is level.

Say, I saw some nice websites for pet cemeteries you might be interested in! I can see the epitaph now:

"Here lies Bart, Phil's faithful friend;
Swapped at the last second to meet his bitter end."

He will be remembered.

What are you going to call this new pooch you have - poor dog - he almost was sacrificed for Bart - me hopes he bites your leg every so often to remind you of that!

How about if we give him a name that comes from the Bible. This Apostle was a tax collector too! Can you name him? Hint: his name sounds like Bart's name!

Long live Matthew - our Colonial spy!

Nice puppy!
