With the recent docking of His Majesty's man-of-war, the HM Minotaur, a fresh crop of promising young officers debark to assist in the quelling of this doomed rebellion. The following officers are up for promotion to:

Congratulations gentlemen. Looks like the British have a whole pack of up-and-comers. From the looks of it, many are recent graduates of the new program at Ft. Davis.

Glad to see Jack Hipkins back. He was an original member of the club and whipped me soundly at Rhode Island in my second club game. (I waited to fight Phil to a draw in my third.[;)])

M'sieu le Général Phil,
I am honored, of course, but also puzzled: Was I not on the Sergeant's list published 1 December '02? There are many gradations of Sergeant, right up to Regimental Sergeant-Major, eh? How many stripes should I be wearing on my sleeve? [^]

Eh, well yes you see Messieur Peterson, the day you were initially called out to accept your sergeant stripes, my aide found you alseep on your cot, unable to rise for the ceremony on the parade ground. He also mumbled something about stubbing his toe on a half bottle of Bordeaux lying nearby. I have no idea what he was talking about, but you're present for your promotion today, what what? [:)]

Come now...what Frenchman worth his salt would deny sampling an occasional taste of the wonderful grapes from Bordeaux?? [:I] And actually Messieur Peterson was allowed to recover from his "ailment" in his own time with no recourse whatsoever. Now had he been a British regular, he might have received a swift lick from the cat. [:(!] We respect and admire our French allies, even if they do like Jerry Lewis. [:o)]
