Well Ernie went and locked that thread - I want to thank Phil for being one of the most stable, turtle shelled (meaning he can let comments roll off his back) and finest CoAs I have ever known in our clubs. He has been a fine asset to our club and a fine Ebay auctioneer (going twice sold for the incredible amount of two million dollars to Bill Peters) as well as being a good friend.
I am glad that you are remaining in the club and I know that Ernie will do well as our new British CiC (or until he can find a new officer).
I hope that you will take up the position again sometime in the future if needed. Your leadership and stability are always going to be needed.

Hear! Hear!

The British did flourish under the command of Sir Phil. Glad to know you will continue to lead forces in the field.

Thank you very much Bill and Mike. It's nice to get a thanks once in awhile, especially coming from my Colonial cousins. [:)] But "turtle shelled" is a bit of an understatement, you need the armor of an Abrams tank sometimes. My only public comment will be that if you've heard rumors as to reasons why, there are two sides to every story, and few know of mine.

That being said and over with, and since I'm back up after a breath of clean fresh air, I'll continue to ply my trade as commander of the King's 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, the Bane of the Rebellion. [:p]

When I think CCC, I think Phil Natta. You are the epitome of the Brit officer and all others are just wannabees. Thanks for all the good work Phil.

Me too!

Phil .. you were a joy to work with while you were British CiC!

Your dedication to detail was appreciated and a great help to me as I strive to keep the database/archive up to date. If some "balk" at the time it takes to keep good records .. you Sir .. are not one of them. [8)]

On another note .. I dread the result (battle wise) of you having a tad more time on your hands to play now. [:o)]

Thanks again gents, much appreciated. It does feel somewhat invigorating to be riding Percival again, as opposed to that bloody awful desk with it's splinters and ink stains. [:)]

Thanks Phil for all you have done. It has been a pleasure to work with you. You did an excellent job in my humble opinion, (not too humble mind you... to the contrary, I am very confident in this opinion.)
What are you going to do with all your extra time? Between this and auctioning off most of your games, it stands to reason all your energies will be focused on only a few wargames. If I were your opponents, I would be scared... V E R Y s c a r e d

A toast to gallant adversary, and a fine gentleman - your loss to the cause of tyranny (political wranglings at Westminster??) have seen you step down, and there are few I fear big enough to fill your boots as the British CinC. So we salute the officer and the man, if not the lobsterback army he leads.. [;)]

As far as doing more games, well my Colonial/US officers - I think we need to go back and do some more basic training and shooting drills if Sir Phil intends to ride in the saddle once more!!

Phil, perhaps we can have a final game, as outgoing CinC vs CinC?? - the winner takes Philidelphia (Lords knows the Bucs managed it..)[:(]

Yours on behalf of the Colonial/US army

David O'Connor
