we have a "Standartenfuehrer" in our British Army? Or are you from the Hessians? Crazy peaople on the continent.[:D]

Regular Poli is a member of His Majesty's British Centre Column. He thus (like the rest of my Column) regards "Hessian" as something to make sacks out of.
We in the Centre Column allow no "sausage-eating" talk in our ranks at all of course. The King's English only, and that with a very posh accent too! (Hipkins excepted - his accent is best not spoken about)
Regular Poli has yet to score a point for our cause, and is awaiting his first game, so he may have been standing around in the sun too long looking for a Yankee to turn up.
This heatstroke would account for his garbled language. I believe what seemed like "Standartenfuehrer" was in fact a request to our heavy seige guns - "Stand the art. ten feet further". (It is very difficult to concentrate on one's mid afternoon cup of tea if the dashed guns are making such a noise.....)
Considering this undoubted heatstroke, and the possibility of permanant mental damage should he be exposed to the sun for much longer, I beg some colonial type to accept his challenge and start shooting at him. [8D]

Sure I love to do battle with you, I have either 1776 or FIW games. You choose the battle and I will surley train you in the art of 18th century warfare![^]

Thanks for recalling my glory days but I relinquished my claim to Standartenfuhrer when I traded in my 'Tiger Tail' for this lobster suit. The real humor behind the story is that when Natta said I would be in the Von Donop Regiment, I thought he said 'Von Doughnut' and thought I'd get a prize of a dozen doughnuts. Well, many shattered dreams later here I sit.
