Greetings Everyone,
I'd like to present an overhaul for the CCC for Campaign 1776 and French & Indian War. It is a collection of my own original work, and the work of other modders, see the credits at the end of this post. If I have missed anyone in the credits, please let me know via PM.
All feedback is welcome, be sure to look for them in the 1776 and FIW downloads section to try them out!
INSTALLATION:Please backup all relevant files in the main game directory before deleting anything or applying the mods.To install, simply copy + paste within respective subfolders.
If you want to have the program display the program-generated 3D terrain tiles instead of the hand-painted JTS official ones, you must navigate to: John Tiller Software > [Campaign 1776, FIW or 1812] > Maps (
with an "s"), and either delete the entire folder or selected files within. You may also simply rename the folder "!!!Maps" or something similar, as the program won't know to display those files.
FEATURES:The structure of the mod pack comprises three separate folders:
- A full standalone Early American Wars environment mod compatible with 1776, FIW or 1812
- A 1776-specific mod for Units, Symbols, etc.
- And a FIW-specific mod for Units, Symbols, etc.
EAW Environment Modifications:Contents of "Map" folder:
- 2D map files overhauled to bring the 2D views in-line with 3D changes. 2D Ground taken from Napoleonic Battles series latest graphical updates.
- 3D Ground files are EzJax's, but their color levels have been altered to reflect more the vegetation of North America.
- Remaining 3D files have been completely reworked, adjusted, tinkered with. The 3D files contain original hand painting in Photoshop, and work sampled from other mods.
- "Alternates" folder provided for roads and streams clear of vegetation for winter scenarios, and alternate building graphics
Contents of "Media" folder:
- Selections from Ross Kennedy's excellent Napoleonic sound mod. The files chosen evoke more of an 18th Century warfare feel and less the thunder of Napoleonic musketry.
1776 Modifications:
Contents of "Info" folder:
- New Leader, Unit cards, and nameplates.
- "Alternates" folder provided for Unit & Leader display area backgrounds. Rename files before applying them.
Contents of "Map" folder:
- 2D Symbols:
- Files have been altered to replace the historically inaccurate 1801 Union Flag, and to add the "Betsy Ross" Continental flag.
- Counters have been repainted to reflect the coloring of the 3D unit bases, for consistency.
- Gorget symbol added to represent British officers in 2D views.
- Unit facing indicators recolored for visibility and consistency when paired with "Info" folder modifications.
- 3D Symbols have been heavily reworked.
- 3D Bases are all new.
