Luneberg Light Battalion - Elite (Morale B)

Most are certainly not Veteran (Morale C) units as you misrepresented. They are in fact, mostly Elite (Morale B) units.
None of which matters, because it is a fictitious command that passed away roughly 200 years ago. I have stated before that the historical quality of the unit to which you assigned means absolutely nothing. It makes you neither a better nor worse player. It is the man who is important, not the history of the unit that he commands. Andy Moss was formerly the Commander of the Russian Opelchenie. I have no doubt that he was formidable beyond all reckoning with a pike.
As far as your gaming expertise being anywhere remotely close to Andy Moss, I will believe such tales only when I hear them from him. My understanding is that your game with him was a pretty one sided affair, and that instead of a 'narrow escape', he was only short 23 VPs from handing you a Major Defeat. And any victory you do get is only relative to the caliber of player you faced, and the relative balance of the scenario you played, just like everybody else.
The key is really not how good you are as a player, although there are some bragging rights associated with superlative play. The key is having fun when you play, and making friends in the process.
Touchy, touchy these Hanoverians....

No need for the soap box I was only being humorous...

I actually like the history of Hanover believe it or not. The KGL I think is some of the most underwritten about forces of the War. Obviously people know that the actual performance of the unit doesn't impact your play, but the unit becomes, if one chooses, a part of his identity in the Club. You will always be a Hanoverian in this Club, I will always be a Prussian. You know how many times I was poked fun of for my Landwehr units in the Prussian Armee?? It comes with the territory.\
I apologize if you misread my humor, I was implying that you & Andy are very good players and are very hard to defeat, unlike me, which is why it is something to take note of. But I never said my expertise was anywhere close to Andy. I'll be the first to boast about my terrible record, which I have often referenced and did in my last post. Andy took one of my battalions in the final turn of the game. I had him held at 197, 3 points away from a draw in his final turn.
But you know why I liked the game....no it was not because I "thought" I'd win or I was as good as Andy, God no, I knew I'd lose.

I always lose in the last number of turns of my games...story of my career....the fact is Andy is is a lot of fun. I've known him for the almost 10 years I have played games. He is a funny guy and our email conversations are always a lot of fun. He's a top notch.

He has brought more recruits to the iNWC back in the day and here than most anyone has and he is one of the few, besides myself, who actively use other gaming sites to get folks into this Club.

Plus he is willing to play anything and put his sword on the line....not everyone does that. He's just here to play games and have fun, just like I want to, which makes him the ideal gaming partner and friend. I think many of us know that about him.

Btw there has been more than one occasion that I've offered the opposite player in a game tips & advice to help them out, especially if they are new. I think many of us do and I am sure you do too as well Mark....

Victories are cheap when you railroad someone....I prefer the fun of a friend, a good conversation and a major defeat any day.
