1815 hours the sun was still high in the sky on this hot summer’s day and the battle rages on. On the Allied left the Hanoverians were hoping that the French would pull out of Nivelles or at least stop cooking! The odor of their garlic and onions and Lord knows what else they were cooking was chocking them. If the French knew said Major General Lambert to Lt General Decken’s how many of our lads had to return to the rear because of the gas warfare that they were waging they would run us out of Nivelles without losing a man.
Meanwhile General Major Bussing was countering the French odor did I say oh dear! With East Indian curry that was clouding the eyes of the French defenders north of the town.
Also as the Scottish light infantry advance the French General’s were worried that their young garcons might mistake the Scott’s for Amazon’s and fall in love and refuse to fight.
The French put the best and loudest drummers they could hire in the front of their men and instructed the noncommissioned officers to get the garcons to yell V’L French Vie’ Emperor hoping to get the Belgians to brake ranks and rejoin the French! After hearing that the British served the Dutch and Belgians tea and cookies they thought that would win them.
But the Duke knew just what to do he gave them stolen French wine that the 95th Rifles had captured in the French rear earlier around the town of Acquennes. Where, the French Light Cav are now holding the bridge that leads into the town.
Meanwhile General Vandamme was ready to shot General Berthezene who was busy reading the latest news from Pari on fashions and the latest perfumes that the Royalist was using. He told the General that you most be always ready to countercharge or retreat. Nay “Monsieur you most be always well dressed and smell like a Nobleman said Berthezene”. “After all I am a count”!
French General de Brig Lafitte on the right of the allied line was complying about his division commander looks that every time he faced him he had to turn his head, do to the missing teeth and the disfigured face of that division commander face. That was his reasoning that a thousand legers of the 8th Léger’s had not attacked the few Brunnschweig’s to his front.
French General de Division L’ Heriter and General de Brig Guiton was eyeing a river that was on the French right and the Allied left for a counter charge when General Kellermann had to remove one of them because he was setting, well let me say that it’s been a while since he last use the latrines.
Kellermann look at the orders for a counter attack and judge it to costly. When he thought that his horsemen who also been in the saddle to long to charge over a river and then set and wait to reorganize themselves it might make the enemy runaway but he could not use enough o’ de ‘ toilet to cover up the smell of over a thousand men and that many more horses. O’de pew! “What horrible way to win a battle he said”.
Meanwhile General Barnes of the British general Staff was running all over the battle field when a French gunner was tired of turning his gun every time he moved fired and missed thinking that it was Wellington. What he didn’t know was that Barnes was looking for the Duke who also had a hard day and was busy in the latrine.
Lt. General Picton was hiding his lads behind the woods to the right of Kellermann, waiting for them to finish refreshing themselves with even more de’ ore (French cheap perfumes). “Oh my god said Picton to General Kempt the smell of the saddle rot”! Hold the lads here till they finish. You see now why these Frenchee wear so much perfume.
Meanwhile Prussian General Major Treskow II of the 1st Kavallerie Brig was having the same problem as the French Cav his Dragoner’s ate sausages before going into battle and 200 + of them, will less say unable to attack. “Oh de pew “
Major General Somerset on the other hand had no problem with his troops at all tea and cookies don’t give you digestive problems! He hide his troopers this hour behind the Prussian Artillery. Did I say behind! Any way the Prussian were trying to put a dent in the many French squares that stood in front of them. On the other hand the French were very happy to be in squares considering that the Prussian gunner were not all that good in aiming. Did I say aiming

!
Meanwhile moving to the Allied right more Allied Cav were just standing still! General Merlen was waiting till all the Prussian Kav was killed before he would move on the French numerous squares and Artillery guns not to mention that it’s been two hours that they have been in this position…
Prussian General Lt. Graf Gneisenau was pushing his men though the wood and attacking the French flank. With great success he was pushing the French toward their squares that set in the clearing to their east.
Later it was founded out that the Prussian solders fought so well in the forest, was because the amount of poor woodland animals they captured and plan on cooking once the French were pushed out of the woods. It was unheard of that e class troops could beat aa+ troops.
The poor and hungry Old and Young Guardsmen looked worried when they reformed their lines. What a perfect place to hide all day who would have guess that the best of the best was camping in the woods eating and drinking while their comrades in arms were dying in the clearing.
Looking over the horizon was general de division Subervie thinking what beau follows these Prussian Westfal. Lw. Kav are when to his own surprise they charged at his own mounted Chasseurs. I wish that we keep our tight fitting hussars jackets he thought. But it was too late they were now on his men before he could order a counter charge.
Meanwhile at the same location General Trip cav also set waiting for the Prussian to clear the wood. “I say what could be keeping them chaps he thought”.
General Trip thought about how wonderful and extraordinary his own light Dragoons look with their bright blue shakos gold trimmed tops their blue uniforms with red facing and gold shoulder broads. And tight fitting hussar pants much too elegant to waste on the French. Sire his ADC called to him you are drooling Sire the lads might see you!
Meanwhile on the Allied right FM Blucher ordered and all out attack on the French at Genappe. He noticed as he was moving though the town a small pub and a very beauteous well endowed full figured Madame as he trotted by on his white charger.
