I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't vote because there is a lot of difficult stuff going on in my life at the moment and I just didn't have the time or energy to wade through all the huge amount of information relating to the proposed changes, or the resulting debates, to make an informed judgement, and I certainly didn't have time to explain myself if I happened to disagree with a proposal (not that I did disagree). Respect to those who spent a lot of time formulating the ideas and contributing to the discussion, but it was just too much for me to get to grips with. I'm not criticising the process, I'm just telling you why I didn't get involved. By the way, I always vote in real world political elections and am not a passive person when it really matters!

Further to the above, the unpleasant undercurrents, politics and general sourness that seems to characterise the club forum these days just puts me off getting involved. So much of what is said and done seems to stoke up personal disagreements and factional ructions, and I just don't need any of that. I come here for relaxation, fun and camaraderie. Please note, I'm not taking sides or blaming any individuals, you are all good guys, I'm just saying what I see. Hopefully this will all settle down soon...
It's not that I don't care about the club. I've been here since 1998 and still love being a member here and playing some excellent opponents, and enjoying the camaraderie. I also have huge respect for those who are devoting their time and energy to running and improving the club. I know from my experience helping out with the ACWGC that it can be hard and often thankless work. Just one person's perspective...
